Deep down I knew there was a reason that I hadn't chucked these
old jeans in the garbage.  Next time you see these,
they will be part of a new quilt I'm hoping to make!
Has anyone made a ragtime quilt that included jeans before?
If you, do you have any pointers or suggestions?
Leave me a comment if you do.

  1. Hey:

Those pics of the boys sure are precious aren't they? The more I look at them, the more I laugh (and cringe)! - like who lets their kids play with a sawzall anyways?
Do you have a recipe for your suet mix that you are willing to share? I've always thought about trying it.
And lastly - you will really enjoy your new quilt when it is finished. They are quite heavy so they really keep you warm. Ours is only jeans on one side and flannel on the other but it is still quite heavy. We bought it at the M sale a few year's ago. Nelly's Mom always makes one or two for the sale every year so you could ask her for some pointers if you need them. Good luck with it! -Krista

  4. With all the quilting I've done, I haven't made a rag quilt from denim. You will need a very sharp scissor to snip all the edges. And count on it taking a long time! (the snipping) :-) But it will be worth it.
